Tide Bank New Customers Get £100 Free Sign Up Bonus

Tide are giving new customers £100 for opening a new account and spending £500 on the card. It's one of the best sign up offers around right now, and we've used it ourselves.

You don't need to switch, you don't need any direct debits and you can qualify by signing up for the free 'Lite' plan. Just open the account with our referral code, do your normal spending on the Tide card for a few months, and the £100 is yours!

Here's how to get your £100 from Tide:

1) Download the Tide App and start the sign up process.

Click here to get the Tide app and complete the sign up, make sure you enter the code RE66LV in this section when joining.

2) Choose your business account type.

Join as a Sole Trader, and select the free Lite plan when they prompt you to pick a plan. You don't need a paid membership to be eligible for the free £100.

Don't worry if you're not actually a sole trader or business owner, read the section below this guide to learn how to qualify.

You will then be prompted to pick a relevant category for your 'business'. Maybe you're a teacher, so you could pick 'Tutoring'. Maybe you want to sell things on eBay, so you could pick 'ecommerce'.

(Obviously you're under no obligation to actually pursue these ventures).

If you actually own a business already, you may want to apply using your actual business details during this part.

3) Submit your ID, and pass the verification step.

You'll need to submit an official ID (like a passport or a drivers license) and then they'll ask you for a live selfie to confirm that it's actually you.

This should only take a few minutes to complete, and most applications are approved instantly after this step.

4) Deposit funds into your new Tide bank account.

There is no minimum deposit requirement to meet the free £100 requirement, however you will need to spend £500 on your new card within 91 days of account opening.

You can decide to move in the full £500 straight away, or drip feed it in over the 91 day period - completely up to you.

4) Spend £500 on your Tide card within 91 days.

You must make at least 1 debit card transaction and spend £500 on your new card. You can choose to fulfil the spend requirement however you wish, but you can't just purchase something expensive and then return it for a refund.

What counts: Groceries, fuel, subscriptions, online shopping, etc.

What doesn't count: Bank transfers, gambling transactions, 'cash equivalent' transactions such as Monzo / Trading212 top ups via card.

5) Receive your free £100 from Tide Bank!

Tide will pay £100 into your account 'within 8 weeks' of completing these steps, however, most people see the funds added within a few days.

From what I've seen, when the final transaction that puts you over £500 moves from 'pending' to 'completed' (2-3 days), you will see the £100 added.

Yes, it's a business account, but hear me out...

Tide is a business banking app, so if you already have a business or have side hustle, it might be a perfect fit for you.

A few things worth knowing

Don't fall for the £200 offer on the home page.

You might see a £200 offer banner when you click our link, but this requires £1,000 worth of spend within 60 days, and you must sign up to a paid account that costs £17.99 per month, and remain a paid user for an extra 2 months whilst awaiting the payout - we do not recommend this!

It's way more faff for no upside when you factor in the expense. Stick to the £100 offer. It's faster, cleaner and doesn't trap you in a subscription.

Make sure the £500 spend is put on your new debit card.

The £500 needs to be card spend - bank transfers in and out don't count.

Just use the Tide card for your everyday stuff for a few months and you'll hit it without really noticing.
