Free Pet Lotto, launched in 2024, is exactly what it sounds like: a free-to-enter online game that rewards users simply for sharing photos of their pets.
So, how does it actually work and is it worth the effort?

When you sign up, you'll be asked for the normal things like a name and email, but Free Pet Lotto is unique in that is asks for you to upload a selfie of your pet.
Your pet's photo is basically your unique lottery ticket. There's no prompt to buy tickets or enter any card details. As the name suggests, it is completely free.
You only need to upload a picture once, and you'll be automatically entered into every draw going forward (provided you remain active on the site).
It doesn't matter if you're a cat or a dog person, because every pet is accepted. The 'Winners Wall' even shows Rabbits, Tortioses and Birds as previous winners.

Sounds cool but why is it free?
Free Pet Lotto states on their site that they fund their prizes by placing ads on their website. Brands pays them to show ads, and they distribute that money with the users.
They claim that it's "like a free newspaper" that you might find on the Tube. It's free for the reader because it's supported by advertiser revenue.
They do have a few ads on the site, and occasionally you're asked to watch a short video to unlock one of the draws. It can sometimes be annoying but I don't mind, I'd rather watch an ad than pay.
How Do You Win Free Pet Lotto?
Free Pet Lotto has a couple of different games on their site, each with different mechanics and prize values.
The Daily Scratch Cards (3 Winners)
Three unique winners are randomly selected at 12pm in the UK each day (including weekends).
The winning pets are hidden behind various 'scratch cards' across the site which admittedly I do find a bit more exciting than I expected. You have to manually 'scratch' with your cursor on desktop, or with your finger on mobile.
If you're lucky enough to see your pet, just hit the claim button and send their team a request for a payout, which is sent via Paypal. They don't have any payout charges or minimum withdrawal limits.
I must say even when you don't win, it's quite a nice way to spend a few minutes looking at other people's pets. Some of the pictures people choose are hilarious.
The Jackpot Wheel (£50 Max Prize)
At 12pm you get a free spin on the Jackpot Wheel which has a few different prizes, the maximum being £50 in cash. This wheel also pays out smaller cash prizes and 'extra entries' into the main draw.
The maximum prize used to be £100, but after Christmas, they changed it to £50. Probably because ad revenues plummet after the Xmas shopping period. Maybe they'll change it back later in the year.
Boosting Your Chances With Extra Entry Sliders
You can increase your number of entries by using the 'extra entry sliders' that are hidden in various parts of the website.
Each slider you activate gives you one more entry into tomorrow's draw. These also reset each day, and the extra entries are only valid for the next day.
I think this is definitely worth doing as it gives you a little boost for basically nothing. It literally takes 1 second per slider.
Double Your Prize With Referrals
Free Pet Lotto also leans has a a referral bonus system that is one of the best referral programs we've seen.
If you win a draw within 14 days of referring a friend, your prize will be doubled.
Is It Worth Trying?
If you're a pet owner, yes.
It's free, pretty fun, and it has a good track record of paying people since 2024.
