New Customers Offered £200 To Switch To Santander

If you don't have a Santander account, now might be a good time to sign up. They're giving £200 to brand new users.

Santander: £200 cash plus a £25 Amazon Gift Card

Santander has launched a competitive new bank switch offers with a generous amount of cash and they've also decided to sweeten the deal by including a free Amazon gift card, too.

This is a pretty good offer in my mind and the Amazon is almost as good as cash (considering 90% of UK households make a purchase from the site each year).

The cash and the card come with two slightly different requirements, however, so you need to hit both sets of conditions to collect the full amount.

This offer could expire at any time. The end date has not been disclosed by Santander.

The gift card offer is managed by VoucherCloud, who seem to have a relationship with Santander. In order to get the gift card offer, you must first go through the Vouchercloud form and then continue your application with Santander.

If you'd prefer to just apply directly with Santander, you can do that to, but won't be eligible for the £25 Amazon Gift Card.

How To Qualify For The Santander Switch Bonus

  • Switch from your old account to Santander with the CASS. Your old account must be closed within 60 days of starting the switch.
  • Deposit at least £1,500 within the first 60 days.
  • Set up two Direct Debits from a specified list of household bills (can be done before or after the switch, but we recommend before). List of accepted DDs below.
  • Also, to qualify for the £25 Amazon Gift Card you must make five debit card transactions within 30 days of opening the account.

Eligible Accounts:
Everyday, Edge, Edge Up, or Edge Explorer current accounts

Who Cannot Apply For This Offer:

  • Anyone who held a Santander current account as of 1 January 2025
  • Anyone who has previously received a Santander switching bonus

What Household Direct Debits Are Accepted By Santander?

Unlike other switch offers, you must switch in an account that has one of the following Direct Debits attached to it.

This is unfortunate as there's quite a lot of people that don't have access to these DD's. It feels like they're trying to acquire homeowners by taking this approach, and students or those living with parents might struggle to qualify.

If you fall into this category, take a look at our list of Best Bank Switches. There may be other offers that you're eligible for without household direct debits.
