Lloyds Refer A Friend Offer: Get A Free £30

Lloyds are giving new customers a free £30 when they open a current account through a refer a friend link. That's £30 for about ten minutes of admin, and there's no bank switch involved.

You don't need to switch banks. You don't need a direct debit. There's no minimum deposit and no monthly fee if you pick the free Classic account. You just need to be brand new to Lloyds and open an account using our special link.

Here's how to get your £30 from Lloyds:

1) Open your account using our special link.

Tap the button below and open a brand new Lloyds current account. You must use our link. If you go straight to Lloyds without it, you won't get the £30 and there's no way to add it afterwards.

Pick the free Classic account when you're asked. You don't need Club Lloyds or any of the paid accounts to qualify for the £30.

2) Download the app and finish your application.

Follow the steps to verify your ID. Most applications are approved in minutes.

Just remember to open the account in your sole name, because joint accounts don't qualify for this offer.

3) Your £30 lands in your new account.

Once your account is open, Lloyds pay £30 into it as a cash credit. It usually lands within a couple days, but Lloyds ask you to wait the full 35 days before contacting them if it hasn't arrived.

This offer is strictly for brand new Lloyds customers. If you already have any Lloyds product, a current account, savings account, credit card, loan or mortgage, you won't qualify.

That also includes being an additional cardholder on someone else's credit card.

Can you stack it with a bank switch bonus?

Yes, and this is where it gets good. Lloyds say the refer a friend offer and their switch offer are independent, so if you qualify for both you can be paid twice.

So you could open an account through our link for the £30, then switch an existing account into Lloyds for whatever their switch bonus is.

However, there's no active Lloyds switch offer at this time. But should this change, then yes you will be able to stack them.

The key details you need to know:

• You must be a brand new Lloyds customer, with no current account, savings account, credit card, loan or mortgage. Being an additional cardholder on someone else's credit card also counts you out.
• Open the account in your sole name. Joint accounts aren't eligible.
• Keep your account open until the £30 has been paid.
• Excluded accounts: Under 19s, Smart Start, Student, Halifax Student, Money Smart and Expresscash.
• The £30 is paid within 35 calendar days as a cash credit. (But it's usually paid much sooner).
• Each referral link lasts 14 days. We're capped at 5 paid referrals per calendar year.
• The offer can be changed or withdrawn without notice at any time.
